Time for Friday Random Ten, where you hit "shuffle" on your favorite digital music player (for me my Windows MediaPlayer at work) and report on the first ten songs that it spits out.
Live Wilco makes the list this week, which reminds me that the missus and I are seeing them in less than three weeks. Woo Hoo!
Here goes:
"If We Never Meet Again" - Jules Shear (from Unplug This)
"I'm Always In Love" - Wilco (from Live At The Majestic Theatre [Bootleg])
"Such A Woman" - Neil Young (from Harvest Moon)
"Cuyahoga" - R.E.M. (from Lifes Rich Pageant)
"This Time" - Los Lobos (from This Time)
"Embryonic Journey" - Leo Kottke (from Essential)
"Cottonbelt" - Lone Justice (from This World Is Not My Home)
"Saw You At The Hop" - The Stone Coyotes (from Church Of The Falling Rain)
"Caught By The Fuzz" - Supergrass (from I Should Coco)
"All I Want Is You" - U2 (from Reality Bites: Soundtrack)
Song I like most from this week's list: I'll go with "All I Want Is You." I'm one of a few people I know who like Rattle And Hum-era U2.
Song I like least from this week's list: As much as I like Jules Shear and the little dig at his former employer (Shear was the first host of MTV's Unplugged, back when it had a host and the acoustic idea was still fresh and interesting), Unplug This sounds like it was put together in about an hour. Not his best work.
Best album on the list: I'm glad Wilco on the list (but it's a bootleg, not really an album) and Lifes Rich Pageant is a great album, but I'm most happy to see the Stone Coyotes up there. Church of the Falling Rain is just a super album that I had somehow forgotten about lately.
