Perhaps having a three-year old as my only source of conversation for the last four days has reduced my ability to discern what is noteworthy and what is not, but here's what's bugging me tonight:
That's the header for phillies.com, the official website of my hometown nine, the Philadelphia Phillies. Take a close look at it (you can click on it to enlarge the image) - to me the ball that's being rocketed out of Citizens Bank Park is foul. Way, way, way, way foul. It's an impressive foul ball, perhaps it's even a galactic foul ball, but it's still just a foul ball.
A strike.
This is the best they could do?
Yikes.

as they say in the ballpark, "nice catch"!

HA! That is indeed rocketing into space, but in foul territory.

Well done. If you're good with Photoshop, maybe you should offer them a home run alternative...for a price.

But at least it's only one strike.
If the logo was of Abreu shattering his tibia then I'd worry.

What makes this post wonderful is what makes most of your posts wonderful: you have a sharp eye.

I emailed phillies.com about that, here was the response:
The artwork is exactly that, artwork not meant to represent an actual
occurance at the ballpark.

One could also imagine that the ball, rather than coming toward the observer, is headed backward, essentially out over the right field wall (and thus fair).
But I kinda' wish you hadn't mentioned it.... :)
