This week I finally got to start running in the Saucony Grid Hurricane 7’s I bought at the Broad Street Run Expo way back in May. I rotate between two pairs of shoes, and I had to wait until the older pair hit 400 miles before I could lace up the new ones. That happened right before I left for vacation, but I didn’t want to risk taking an un-broken-in pair with me to Ocean City so I waited until this week to try out the new pair. L-U-V them.
I know that Sauconys aren’t for everyone, but I love them and have never had a problem with them (I’ve heard horror stories about them falling apart, but I’ve never had that happen, even after I retire them to the “lawn-mowing shoes” pile). My running log says that I have run just over 5000 miles since 1996 (gad-zooks!) and I would say that at least 4500 of those miles were run in Hurricanes. I'm guessing that that means I've gone through a dozen pairs of these shoes.
And yes, I would marry them if I could.
