Friday Random Ten - 10.14.05

Trombone_frtTime for Friday Random Ten, where you hit "shuffle" on your favorite digital music player (for me my Windows MediaPlayer at work) and report on the first ten songs that it spits out.

As promised, all free and legal (I think) mp3's this week. Below are 10 of the 54 songs I've downloaded (and deemed keepable) in the last two weeks.

Lots of power pop this week. Remember, there are no losers on this list. They all have the Long Cut seal of approval. Some are better than others (the Spectacular Fantastic truly are both spectacular and fantastic).

I've got another free-at-noon concert today - My Morning Jacket. It should only last about 40 minutes but I'm still psyched. These guys are great live.

If you do download these songs (and please do - posting them is hard work!) let me know what you think of them. Enlighten yourself, but do it quickly - no telling how long these links will stay active.

Here goes:

01. "All My Loving" - Valley Lodge [via 3hive]
02. "Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)" - The White Stripes [via Fluxblog]
03. "Hundredaire" - Hey Willpower [via Fluxblog]
04. "As Tommy Fixes Fights" - Clue To Kalo [via 3hive]
05. "Do What You Wanna Do" - Acid House Kings [via Some Velvet Blog]
06. "Kissing Families" - Silversun Pickups [via 3hive]
07. "Shine A Light" - Wolf Parade [via Miss Domestic]
08. "Audrey In The Country" - Envelopes [via Miss Domestic]
09. "Papermill" - The Beautiful New Born Children [via 3hive]
10. "Darkest Hour" - The Spectacular Fantastic [via Fingertips]

Update: The lunchtime My Morning Jacket concert rocked, as expected. I was right up against the stage and now I'm having a little trouble hearing my co-workers this afternoon. Not that that's a bad thing.
