Time for Friday Random Ten, where you hit "shuffle" on your favorite digital music player (for me my Windows MediaPlayer at work) and report on the first ten songs that it spits out.
Even before yesterday's morbid post, it may have seemed from a couple of my photos that I have been fixated on death lately. I haven't been but I could see where I may have worried at least one of my readers. So I'm going to use this week's FRT to correct that gloomy perception, even though I still don't feel 100% back to life today (I am, however 100% back to work - or at least 100% back at work).
I have limited the pool of songs to be randomized to those in my MediaPlayer that includes the word "life." There were only 24 of them but at least that's more than a search on "death" provided, which was a mere four songs.
If you've come to expect new downloads from me on Fridays - HA! I'm still downloading but I've barely had a chance to listen to any of them. There's like a three week backlog of them, yet I can't stop downloading more (and then Paige makes it worse by introducing me to yet another great music blog). Maybe, maybe, next week I'll have some newer stuff for you.
Here goes:
"This Street, This Life, This Man" - Cowboy Junkies
"True To Life" - Uncle Tupelo
"My Life Is Right" - Big Star
"Secret O' Life" - James Taylor
"I Need Your Love In My Life" - Solomon Burke
"Dirty Life & Times" - Warren Zevon
"Hold My Life" - The Replacements
"This Island Life" - Violent Femmes
"Life During Wartime" - Talking Heads
"Life Left Him Here" - The Minus 5
[+]: "Hold My Life"
[-]: "This Island Life"

There are so many good music blogs I can't keep up anymore. That being said, don't forget to check out the songs I uploaded for this Friday's Tunes! :)
