Friday Random Ten - The "Last Crusade" Edition
Time for Friday Random Ten, where you hit "shuffle" on your favorite digital music player (for me my Windows MediaPlayer Apple iTunes Last.fm player at work) and report on the first ten songs that it spits out.
I'm still trying to find the perfect online radio service for me. Today I'm giving Last.fm a spin. So far it's pretty good. It's doesn't let you pause the music and it seems to be playing a small circle of artists (but that will probably expand as I use it more). Other than that it's pretty decent. I'll give it a week before I try another service.
The program starts out by asking you to name a favorite artist, so here are the first ten songs the player spit out for "similar music to Wilco."
Here goes:
01. "Hey Brother" - Beulah
02. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" - The Beatles
03. "When I Go Deaf" - Low
04. "Major Leagues" - Pavement
05. "Someday Some Morning Sometime" - Billy Bragg & Wilco
06. "Ecstasy Blues" - Yo La Tengo
07. "Spooky Girlfriend" - Elvis Costello
08. "Why Not Smile" - R.E.M.
09. "Across The Sea" - Weezer
10. "Chain reaction (Bonus Track for Japan)" - Beck
Eh, not a bad mix.

Funny, I just heard of Last.fm earlier today and bookmarked it, but haven't taken it for a test drive yet.

I'm surprised you didn't get any MMJ in there. Nice mix, though. I recently started using Radio Indie Pop, which might be a little limited for your taste, but good for when you're in that kind of mood.
I'd link you to the thingy but your comments lady doesn't like the html. :)
