Isn't this a lovely picture of my date for the evening? My beloved and I had a date night for the first time in so long. We went to this Mexican Restaurant that is really close by. I should have recognized the sign that it was going to be an "interesting" evening when they sat us by the door. There was a big partition that I'm sure was supposed to block the wind but it went up and over fairly easily.
You must understand that when we go out to eat, I usually order the stuff that I know. It's just safer that way. This time I ordered the chicken enchiladas. On the menu it sounded yummy. Then the waitress warned me that the taste of the sauce is kind of smoky and bitter. I figured that I should take my beloved's advice and take chances. When I actually got my food... UGH! Smoky and bitter is not something that should be used to describe something that you are about to eat! My beloved was a good sport and switched plates.
After that we walked around the mall to work off our food. It sounds lame, but we didn't want to go home and it was too cold to go outside. We got the 2 YO some new clothes for next year on sale. ( I love going shopping off season!) After walking around a bit we went to Starbuck's for Hot Chocolate. I got this stuff that tastes like someone melted a brownie and put it in a cup for me to drink. My beloved got a Frappucino. I think that he "misordered".
Anyway, it was nice just to get away for a few hours. We don't do that nearly enough and should really start. I like having conversations that don't revolve around the kids every once in a while.
Nowhere on that board did it say it was a Frappucino. I thought it was a steamed milk thingy.

It's funny though - you go out and end up buying the 2 yo clothes! Been there. I went to NYC alone yesterday and spent a big chunk of time missing the kids. They would have liked the hotel - I walked past the Empire State Building - the train was fun - blah blah blah. I'll admit to being glad they were home though during the meetings, which would have bored them stupid.
