Guess where I am? C'mon, you'll never guess. I am down the shore. Yup, we are here at our last day of vacation and I am so tired that I'll be suprised that this makes any sense.
Highlights from our trip:
The 7yo has tried lots of new things this week. From the scary rides at Wonderland to the asparagus that I had at dinner the other night. He went on the log flume which is huge for him. He went on with my beloved and all you could see of him was his eyes. Those suckers were as big as saucers. We had a tough time pulling him out of the water. Pretty good for a kid who considers gameboy and the computer total entertainment. Although the manners that he is lacking can be explained by a lack of sleep/walking and biking all over he place, he has managed to leave the boardwalk without a lot of drama.
The 3yo has been a whirlwind this week. After every ride that he went on, he screamed,"Did you see that?" "That was totally awesome." He tried my asparagus too! He loved the beach and wanted us to bury him. He loved it when we had visitors and soaked up that extra attention. We all went to see Madagascar today ( cute movie) because it rained most of the day. The 3yo liked the movie but it was a bit too long for him.
The water park was cool. We got there early so we could take advantage of rides and slides. It was a shame that we had to leave around 12:30 because the lines were getting long and the rude people were in effect. The 7yo made a friend and the 3 yo was just happy to hang out in the toddler area. He kept dunking his head in the water. He still has no fear about water stuff.
The coolest part of the whole week for me? We got a date night! My neighbor/babysitter insisted that we go somewhere and have some peace and quiet for a few hours. We went to Bubba Mac's and then walked the boards. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed watching the ocean with my beloved. I don't think that we have done it since high school or college. Aside from a snafu with the kids, it was a great night.
I was sad to hear about what is going on in London. Scary to think that AQ has largely been ignored by our G8 leaders. It seems to me that this might have been avoided if we weren't in Iraq and distracted from what's going on in Afganistan. But that's just me. I don't know if Bush realizes that staying the course isn't working. I don't know what has to happen to get us out of there. Makes me nervous to hear a 12 year long war when my kids won't be kids then. This is just an absolute mess and Bush isn't taking any responsibility for the crap that happens.
But yeah, it was a great vacation. Just sad to hear about London.
Don't think you can pin the blame for London on Dubya. These fanatical, subhuman extremist have been pulling this shit since long before we were ever in Iraq. Of course, he's bugging me by using it to further "prove" his righteousness in doing what he's been doing.
And, if it makes you feel better, I did have a few choice words for him while paying at the gas pump today.
