My reaction to the events of the last couple of weeks are best described as simply:
Jigga what?
The Foley scandal is nasty. It just goes to show what a bunch of hypocrites the GOP are. I want to know just who in the hell is going to jail ? Foley ran to rehab. Hastert is so "in your face" that I hope this can only mean the GOP is going down in November. I love how the spin goes:
1. Bill Clinton did it. (the girl was of age and don't you remember just how loud the GOP got about how his office was disgraced?)
2. We didn't want to be accused of gay bashing. (They weren't too frickin concerned when it came to the gay marriage ban and the other ridiculousness that went on. This also opens up the idea that being gay is equated with pedophilia. I'm sure that all those evangelicals are thrilled!)
3. The timing of the story is suspicious. (Well, maybe this guy should have been ousted right when it happened. There would be no calls of Democratic spies if Hastert and his buddies were up front. They so took advantage of Monicagate so why shouldn't Dems take advantage of Pervertgate.)
While I am PISSED at the way this is being handled. I'm not suprised. It serves us right. (not me, though, I DIDN'T have anything to do with electing any GOP a-holes.) I remember saying that I couldn't imagine Bush getting elected again because of Iraq and Afganistan. We know what happened!
Nothing would suprise me but I would like to think that after all the crap that has come out since...
Abu Graib
Katrina
All the tell-all books (if they all say the same crap, do we really think that they are all lying?)
Foleygate
People being called stupid and confused because they have legitimate concerns about the war.
( I know that I must be missing stuff...) people would wake up and get the collective group of Republicans out of power. I don't know though. I don't know what exactly has to happen. When I see that kids aren't being protected and the war is being projected as lasting another 10 years. I get mad and wonder what has happened to the morals and ethics that the GOP promised us. It seems like we had a more ethical attitude before we were forced into a Bush presidency.
Amen. It is time to get out the vote team blue. This stuff doesn't even make sense to me.
