For those of us who've kind of lost track of what's going on, politics-wise, out there in Iraq, Yankee Pot Roast is kind enough to post the new Iraqi Bill of Rights. It's hard to pick a favorite, but this is a great start:
First Amendment—Freedom of Speech, Press, and Peaceable Assembly
All Iraqis (except women, Sunnis, and Kurds), shall have the right of unabridged speech and press, and the right to assemble peaceably, so long as they keep to themselves and do not say too much.
Oh, and let's not forget the subsequent amendments, which include this gem:
Twelfth Amendment--Presidential Election
The President and Vice President shall be elected by the President and Vice President of the United States.
Looks to me like Iraq should be right up to speed with the U.S. any day now.
Get the feeling that George W. may be the only person in the South happy to see the hurricane? Sure takes the media spotlight off of Cindy Sheehan for the time being.
