It has been decided that for the next fourteen days - from now until the Science Fair - what little free time I have shall be spent helping the eight-year-old build this thing.
The plan is to justify the "science" angle of this toy by explaining the types of propulsion used to move the balls through the tower. After two weeks of pinched fingertips and diagrams that look more like optical illusions than engineering plans, I think that the real lesson will be that no matter how much you love K'nex, you can have too much of a good thing.
