So I stayed up until 12:30 last night this morning the watch the Phillies' unsuccessful attempt to give away their game to Nats. I've been making an effort to get to bed earlier, but staying up last night was okay because I was going to be off today. The missus needed me home so I could take the four-year-old to/from nursery school while she went to some training.
So, the boys would be in school, the missus in Trenton, and (in theory) I would be back in bed. But what ended up happening (somehow) was:
- an unexplainable cleaning jag (the tough stuff, too - kitchen, bathroom, and plenty of mopping),
- a five-mile run squeezed-in before it rained (which didn't happen until tonight anyway), and
- (what I somehow always end up doing on my day off) baking cookies.
Lots and lots of cookies. A batch of tollhouse, a batch of choc-oat-chip, and two batches of oatmeal-raisin (guess which cookie is my favorite). By the time the baking was over (interrupted only briefly by dinner), it was bedtime.
A way-past-my-bedtime bedtime (so much for getting to bed earlier). I'm tired, but it's a good tired - an I've-got-twenty-dozen-cookies-in-the-freezer tired.
I'd offer some cookies to my readers, but they're going fast.
ohhhhh.... cookies....

I baked dozens of cookies on Wednesday night while watching the Biggest Loser. It must not inspire me much.
Anyway, I made choc chip, choc chip w/walnut and oatmeal cranberry (which are beyond good!)
We're just a cookie bakin' family...
