Jim Donahue/The Velvet Blog

The White Stripes do nothing for me. I've tried to like them, but, nope. (I do dig the Michel Gondry-directed videos, though. He's amazing. One of his videos actually made me want to own a Kylie Minogue song, not that that's necessarily a good thing.)

The one Polyphonic Spree track that I absolutely love is the English single remix for "Soldier Girl," from the first album. The album version is just ok, but, boy oh boy, the single mix just plain soars. I've been known to hit "repeat" on that one a few times in a row. It came bundled with the CD when I bought it, but I'm not sure where it's otherwise available.
